This summer, the Montefiore Nyack Foundation was fortunate to have the enthusiastic support of our Volunteens—a dedicated group of young volunteers who brought energy, passion and a helping hand as we prepared for the upcoming Rides & Strides event and tackled a variety of important tasks.

It is with great sadness and deep gratitude that we honor the life of Ruth Wilson, a treasured volunteer and the heart of the Westchester-Rockland Chapter of Project Linus. Ruth’s legacy is woven—quite literally—into every handmade blanket she lovingly crafted for children in need.

Chandra Gonsalves embodies the spirit of service, bringing warmth, dedication and compassion to everything she does. Originally from Guyana, Chandra moved to the United States in 1988 and married her husband, John, the following year. Together, they built a beautiful family with three sons and one daughter, while Chandra balanced a thriving career and a deep commitment to giving back.

Montefiore Nyack Hospital recently celebrated the extraordinary legacy of Judith H. Trust, a devoted volunteer whose compassion and kindness profoundly impacted our community. Her contributions continue to inspire hope and comfort for countless patients and families.

Volunteer Spotlight: Patti Beutel Volunteer Spotlight Meet Patti Beutel, a longtime supporter of Montefiore Nyack. Patti is a resident of West Nyack, a cancer survivor, and a dedicated volunteer who has been serving as the coordinator of the Warming Hearts of Rockland program since 2011.
