Creative Ways to Give
Planned Giving: The 1895 Society
Charitable bequests and living trusts have become an important part of Montefiore Nyack Foundation’s philanthropic tradition. These special gifts enable many individuals to make significant gifts that they could not have made during life. Your planned gift will not only allow you to leave a legacy here at Montefiore Nyack but will also help provide comfort and compassionate care to the more than 180,000 patients we support annually. We would be delighted to work with you and your advisors in arranging the planned gift that works best for you. Click here to see our Planned Giving brochure.
While most people own some form of life insurance because of it's unique ability to meet a variety of needs for financial protection, it's role in charitable giving is often overlooked. Life insurance can allow you to leave a legacy for not only for the people you love but also for organizations and causes that are important to you like Montefiore Nyack Foundation. You can name Montefiore Nyack Foundation as the beneficiary just as you can people. If you have an existing policy, its easy to change the beneficiary to a charity.
Donor Advised Fund (DAF) – This unique charitable giving vehicle is an account at a sponsoring organization, generally a public charity, where an individual can make a charitable gift such as cash, stock or other assets to enjoy an immediate tax benefit and retain advisory privileges to disburse charitable gifts over time. The contribution a donor makes to their donor-advised fund is 100% irrevocable and destined for their favorite 501(c)(3) charity such as Montefiore Nyack Foundation.

A gift of appreciated property such as securities or real estate is a popular alternative to a gift of cash and may generate double tax benefits.
