Welcoming Michael Oates to the Montefiore Nyack Hospital Foundation Board
The Montefiore Nyack Hospital Foundation is proud to welcome Michael Oates to its Board of Directors. Mike was officially elected to the Foundation Board in October 2025, bringing with him decades of leadership in economic development, regional investment and public-private partnerships throughout the Hudson Valley.
Mike currently serves as President and CEO of the Hudson Valley Economic Development Corporation, where he works with business leaders, government officials and community stakeholders across seven counties to drive economic growth, workforce development and investment across the region.
Dr. Mark Geller, President and CEO of Montefiore Nyack Hospital, welcomed the appointment, noting the important intersection between healthcare and economic vitality.

Throughout his career, Mike has been a tireless advocate for strengthening communities through strategic partnerships, innovation and smart economic policy. His expertise in regional development, business attraction and investor engagement will be an invaluable asset to the Foundation as it continues to expand philanthropic support for Montefiore Nyack Hospital.
Recently, Mike authored a widely read op-ed highlighting the broader impact of hospitals on regional economies. In the article, he emphasized that Montefiore Nyack Hospital is not only a healthcare provider, but also a powerful economic engine for Rockland County and the Hudson Valley, supporting jobs, strengthening the workforce and helping drive economic growth throughout the region.
That perspective is especially meaningful as the hospital continues its transformation and expansion to meet the healthcare needs of our growing community.
