A Legacy of Caring: Planned Giving for Every Generation
Ages 25–40: As careers and families begin to grow, many individuals choose to include charitable organizations in their estate plans through a simple provision in their will. Even a modest percentage can create a powerful future gift without affecting current finances.
Ages 40–60: During peak earning years, supporters often review beneficiary designations on retirement accounts or life insurance policies and consider adding Montefiore Nyack Hospital as part of their legacy plans.
Ages 60–70: As retirement approaches, planned giving can become an important part of financial and philanthropic planning. Naming the hospital in your will or trust allows you to support the programs and services that matter most to you.
Ages 70 1/2 and beyond: Individuals with traditional IRAs may benefit from making a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD). A QCD allows you to transfer funds directly from your IRA to Montefiore Nyack Hospital, potentially reducing taxable income while supporting patient care, advanced technology and community health initiatives. For those age 73 and older who are required to take Required Minimum Distributions (RMDs), a QCD can be an especially tax-efficient way to give.
“Montefiore Nyack Hospital cared for my family when we needed them most. Naming the hospital as a beneficiary of my life insurance policy was an easy decision. It’s comforting to know that, even after I’m gone, my legacy will continue to provide compassionate care for others in our community.” — Nancy M., retired Montefiore Nyack employee
No matter your age, a planned gift is a powerful statement of hope and compassion. By including Montefiore Nyack Hospital in your will, trust, retirement plan, life insurance policy or through a Qualified Charitable Distribution, you can ensure that exceptional care remains close to home for generations to come.
