FJ Borelli Family Emergency Center: Phase Two Opening

A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the much-anticipated Phase Two opening of the FJ Borelli Family Emergency Center was held yesterday. Public Officials, Board Members, staff and the Borelli Family along with special guests attended to help celebrate the completion of the project, which includes new pediatric treatment rooms, an Express Care area and two imaging suites.

The Emergency Department has been expanded to to 26,000 square feet through the Hospital’s Transformation project, which began in 2016. The First Phase of the project opened in 2020. The completed space offers a separate fast/track urgent care center, new rapid assessment area, private behavioral health assessment unit, larger trauma treatment bays, dedicated imaging suite with a CT scanner, and an integrated decontamination room. With almost 60,000 visits in 2015, Montefiore Nyack Hospital’s Emergency Department is one of the most active in the lower Hudson Valley. The addition of an adjacent urgent care center will assist with providing patients with non-emergent conditions a more appropriate level of ambulatory care and access to primary care providers, reducing unnecessary visits to The Emergency Department.

The FJ Borelli Family Emergency Center at Montefiore Nyack Hospital is one of the Nation’s best for safety, quality of care, efficiency, and patient satisfaction and is a designated Area Trauma Center.
