The Montefiore Nyack Foundation was proud to host a special Breakfast with the Commissioner, bringing together members of the Foundation Board of Directors and the Montefiore Nyack Hospital Board of Trustees to welcome a distinguished guest: Dr. Mary Leahy, newly appointed Commissioner of the Rockland County Department of Health.

Dr. Leahy, a longtime friend and familiar face at Montefiore Nyack, holds a special place in our hospital’s history as the first female board-certified internist on Nyack Hospital’s Medical Staff. During her visit, she toured the hospital and shared her inspiring vision for the future of public health in Rockland County.

Her thoughtful remarks emphasized the importance of collaboration between healthcare institutions and public health leadership to advance wellness, health equity and access across our diverse communities.

We are incredibly grateful for Dr. Leahy’s leadership, inspired by her trailblazing legacy and confident that Rockland County is in exceptional hands under her guidance.
