Private Patient Room Transformation – A More Comfortable Patient Experience
Thanks to the generosity of our donors and community partners, Montefiore Nyack Hospital continues to transform the patient experience through its Single Bed Transformation Project.
When construction began in 2024, nearly all inpatient rooms at the Hospital were semi-private. In November 2024, Montefiore Nyack Hospital celebrated the opening of 4 Maze, the first inpatient unit featuring 18 private rooms. Building on that success, the Hospital proudly opened 5 Maze in May 2026, bringing the Hospital to an impressive 90% private room occupancy.
Private rooms provide patients and families with greater comfort, dignity, privacy and infection prevention while enhancing the overall healing experience.
To help make this vision a reality, the Montefiore Nyack Foundation has transferred more than $1 million to the Hospital in support of the Single Bed Transformation Project—a powerful example of philanthropy at work.
“Creating a healing environment that promotes privacy, comfort and exceptional care has long been a priority for our Hospital,” said Paul Adler, Chair of the Montefiore Nyack Foundation Board. “Thanks to the generosity of our donors, more patients and families can experience the dignity and peace of mind that private rooms provide. We are proud that philanthropic support has played such an important role in transforming the patient experience for generations to come.”
This remarkable transformation reflects Montefiore Nyack Hospital’s ongoing commitment to delivering exceptional care close to home—and would not have been possible without the support of our generous donors.
Thank you for helping us create a healthier, safer and more comfortable environment for our patients and their families.
