Meet Keya Kulshreshtha, a junior at Nanuet Senior High School, who has been volunteering at Montefiore Nyack Hospital throughout the school year and during the 2025 summer program.
“I am tremendously thankful for my experiences as a volunteer, most of which were completely new to me. From completing tasks, all the way to the wonderful interactions I have had with people, I have an increased appreciation for all the care, effort and attention to detail that is put towards patients in this hospital,” Keya shared. She has found inspiration in watching our staff provide comfort to patients—even after long, exhausting days—fueling her ambition to one day enter the healthcare field and emulate their dedication.
Keya also treasures the relationships she has built through volunteering: “Not only will I cherish the memories created during my interactions with the patients, I have also made amazing friends throughout the volunteering journey. When working with everyone as a team, or engaging in enriching conversations, it is always heartening to see the smiles and compassion we give each other.”
We are grateful for volunteers like Keya, whose energy, compassion and enthusiasm help make Montefiore Nyack Hospital a place of care and connection for our community.
