Montefiore Nyack Hospital recently celebrated the extraordinary legacy of Judith H. Trust, a devoted volunteer whose compassion and kindness profoundly impacted our community. Her contributions continue to inspire hope and comfort for countless patients and families.

Judith was more than just a volunteer. As a cancer survivor, she understood the challenges faced by patients undergoing treatment. This deep empathy inspired her to give back to our Infusion Center, a place where she sought to bring warmth and solace to those in need. One of her most heartfelt contributions was a stunning quilt she lovingly handcrafted and donated to the center. This quilt, a symbol of resilience and hope, now hangs proudly in the Infusion Center, providing comfort and encouragement to all who pass through its doors.

In addition to her work at the hospital, Judith was a special education teacher and advocate for children, adolescents and adults with special challenges and needs. Her dedication to helping others led to the opening of the Judith H. Trust Assessment and Referral Center at Montefiore Nyack Hospital in 2014, a vital resource that assists individuals in finding appropriate treatment with the support of our community partners.

During a special unveiling ceremony, Judith’s beautifully framed quilt was revealed, and we were honored to have her husband, Bill, in attendance. His presence made the event even more meaningful, reflecting the love and partnership that Judith shared with her family and friends. The quilt’s unveiling was a poignant moment, celebrating Judith’s enduring impact on our hospital community.

Judith Trust’s story is a powerful reminder of the profound difference one person can make. Her courage, kindness and commitment to helping others will forever be a part of the fabric of Montefiore Nyack Hospital.
