Breaking Down Barriers: Helping Patients Get to Cancer Treatment

At Montefiore Nyack Hospital, we believe that transportation should never stand in the way of lifesaving treatment—and thanks to our valued partnership with the American Cancer Society (ACS), it doesn’t have to.

Through the support of generous grants, ACS is helping patients receiving cancer care at Montefiore Nyack Hospital by providing critical transportation assistance. These services ensure that patients can get to and from their appointments safely and on time—without the added burden of finding or affording a ride.

For many patients, transportation is one of the most significant barriers to accessing consistent, timely care. By removing this obstacle, ACS is making it possible for more patients to receive the treatment they need, when they need it most.

Senior Administrative Director of Women’s Health Hematology Oncology Services Jennifer Wagner shared, “Reliable transportation is more than just getting from point A to point B—it’s about ensuring patients don’t miss critical care. This support allows our patients to focus on healing, knowing that getting to treatment is one less thing to worry about.”

We are proud to work alongside the American Cancer Society in the fight against cancer and are deeply grateful for their commitment to improving health outcomes and supporting our community—one ride at a time.
