Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to individuals like Jaden John, whose generous donation of brand-new toys during the holiday season has profoundly enriched our Pediatric Department and Pediatric Emergency Department at Montefiore Nyack Hospital. Jaden’s commendable initiative, FFACT (Fighting for All Children Today), reflects his dedication to spreading joy among pediatric patients. His contribution not only brings smiles but also provides comfort to the young ones facing health challenges. We are so thankful to Jaden for brightening the spirits of these children and making a positive impact on their hospital experience.
The Westchester / Rockland Pride Volleyball Club, under the guidance of Director & Coach Taneisha Cantave, showcased their incredible community spirit by collecting brand-new toys for the Pediatric Department and Pediatric Emergency Department at Montefiore Nyack Hospital. During the holiday season, these dedicated girls distributed the toys, bringing joy to young patients. Their commitment to community, sportsmanship, and spreading love was further highlighted during a special tour of the pediatric emergency department, led by Dr. William Greenhut and Andrea McGowan. This experience allowed them to gain insights into the daily operations of the hospital, solidifying their status as true superstars who embody the values of compassion and teamwork.
Montefiore Nyack Foundation enjoyed meeting with the Westchester-Rockland Chapter of Project Linus to thank them in person for their continued support and generosity. Every quarter, Project Linus donates handmade blankets and hats to our pediatric patients at Montefiore Nyack Hospital.
Project Linus is a national, volunteer, not-for-profit organization named after the blanket-toting character in Charles Schultz’s Peanuts cartoon strip. Project Linus gives a new handmade blanket to children who are in a hospital, have been in an accident, are suffering through the loss of a loved one, or are in foster care, homeless or, in other challenging situations.

Clarkstown High School South student and president of the Red Cross club, Jaden John, accompanied by the club’s vice president Andria Kwan, and guided by their advisor Trisha Bentley, witnessed the impact of a successful toy donation project within the local community. Through collaborative efforts involving dedicated staff, enthusiastic students, and even contributions from the wider community, they managed to collect over 100 brand-new toys which they donated to local organizations including Montefiore Nyack Hospital. Despite being a high school, these collective steps within the community exemplify the profound change that can be initiated through small but meaningful actions. Together, they demonstrated the power of unity, compassion, and the ability of every individual, regardless of age, to contribute to positive change.
