As our frontline healthcare workers continue to navigate the challenges of COVID-19, the Hospital has been extremely busy, like never before, treating a record amount of patients desperately in need of acute and critical medical care as a result of postponing routine and emergency healthcare during the pandemic. We are seeing much sicker and helpless patients coming through our doors.
Patient Relief Fund
Over the past 18 months, the pandemic demonstrated that as a community, we are stronger together. From the donated meals to your encouraging words, you had our backs so that we could have yours. It was supporters like you that helped us through! We couldn’t have done it without your support!
Many lessons were learned over the last year and a half. Not the least of which is the value of compassionate, patient-centered care close to home. The pandemic forced the postponement of routine diagnostic screening and clinical care. As a result, we are experiencing a record number of patients coming through our doors with significant healthcare challenges and acute disease. In response, Montefiore Nyack Foundation established the Patient Relief Fund to ensure that all patients and their families can focus on healing.
How the Patient Relief Fund Helps:
When you are sick there’s so much to worry about. Through fundraising, the Patient Relief Fund helps ensure that all of our patients and their families have the comfort and necessities they need in order to heal. You can make a BIG difference in the care and recovery for the most vulnerable in our community. When you support the Patient Relief Fund, your donation will help provide assistance with:
- Access to technology for patients to keep in touch with their families and support system who don’t live nearby.
- Assistance with medication and rehabilitation equipment;
- Comfortable clothes to be discharged in to leave the hospital with dignity and make their way home or to the next level of care; and
- Necessary transportation for those needing to attend treatment or medical visits.
